FOLK-BLUES GUITAR WIZARD JOHN BRANDEBURG
Folk-blues guitar wizard John Brandeburg has been playing music in the Northern California area for over 40 years. John's music is played in the genuine tradition of the early acoustic blues of the twentieth century. His particular interests are the Piedmont, Delta, West Texas, and other styles of rural and country blues. John has performed at many Northern California venues, in coffee houses, folk festivals, concert halls, and county fairs, including the Sonoma County Folk Festival, the Mendocino County Blues Festival, the Boonville Folk-Blues Festival, and at the 2006, 2007, and 2009 Mendocino Acoustic Blues Workshops. Over the years, John has been the opening act for Lightnin' Hopkins, Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee, Jesse Fuller, Dave Van Ronk, John Hammond, Dan Hicks, Ramblin' Jack Elliot, Steve Goodman, Dale Miller, and Eric Schoenberg. He currently plays on a regular basis at Murphy's Irish Pub in Sonoma, in a group called "The Perfect Crime." John can be heard with his long time friend, Ragtime Rick Blaufeld, on "Down and Out Blues" and the 2007 release, "Green Rocky Road," with The Perfect Crime on "Friends," and with Dan Hicks on his most recent recording, "Dan Hicks and the Hot Licks," featuring an all star cast of musicians.
